• NHI provides you with a detailed professional inventory of only the
  assets in your home/business that you deem imperative for
  documentation. This is accomplished by your choice of video, digital
  photographs, detailed written records, or all of the aforementioned.
  
  
• NHI uses a digital video camera (or VHS camcorder video camera) to
  record the exterior of the building along with any outside structures and items
  of value on the property. The contents of every room (as well as basement,
  attic, garage) inside the home/office is videoed including closets, drawers, paintings, art objects, jewellery, china, furs, etc.
  
  
• NHI professionally edits the video and copies it to a non-rewritable DVD
  disk. The VHS video tape is presented as recorded.
  
  
• NHI uses a state of the art Digital Camera to photograph specified valuable items. The photographs are copied to a non-rewritable DVD disk.
  
  
• NHI provides a detailed, easy to read written inventory. Items of your
  choice are catalogued by room or category.

3. What do I need to do to get ready for the appointment?

Please know that you do not need to clean your house for NHI to do the
Inventory. However, in order to do the Inventory expeditiously it is helpful to have the items to be documented easily accessible.

• We meet before the actual documentation to discuss in detail what your
  needs are for documentation.
• Together, we conduct a survey of the premises.
• We discuss the packages and priced. Prices will vary. Each individual situation
  will be unique to you.
• We schedule an appointment for the Inventory.
• The completed Inventory needs to be stored in a safety deposit box, in a safe place off the premises, or in a fireproof and waterproof safe.

4. Why can’t I record my own inventory?

• Computer inventory software packages can be installed on your computer. However, there are several risks that you may encounter. If you do not have a
  back up for your program and your hard drive dies or you get a virus on your computer, all of your information will be lost. The computer can be stolen or damaged.

• Due to the rapid change of technology, programs that you had on your computer when you originally created your assets inventory may not necessarily run on
  your computer today.

• Your inventory of information may only be accessible from your computer, so if
  you are in another location, you may not be able to access this valuable information.

• On-line data banks are prevalent on the internet. Do you trust placing your
